ECCP:
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are finding time this month to slow down, whether on leave or in your day-to-day. I write today with (surprisingly!) brief update on our shared community of practice.
If you’re new to the ECCP, welcome. You can follow the ECCP conversation on WhatsApp in our three groups: English, French, or Spanish.
We have a general monthly networking meeting coming up at the end of next month, 29 July at 14h CET. You can register your interest on this sign-up sheet if you’d like to receive calendar invitations for our monthly meetings. As usual, you’ll find a roundup of events, activities, and connection links here: https://ecosystemforpeace.org/2025.
Gender, Climate, and Security session next week
On 22 July at 17h CET, our Climate Security Learning Series wraps up (for now) with an engaging finale. This session will focus on Gender, Climate, and Security, with Maryruth Belsey Priebe, aXXelerate, and Sophia Stanger, Austrian Centre for Peace. Two guests will share their practical experience, Dr. Mojisola Akinsanya, founder Women for Peace and Gender Equality Initiative (WOPEGEE, Nigeria) and Col. Lt. Michael Novotny (Austrian Defense Attaché in Ghana). You can sign up to receive a calendar invitation here.
This session will conclude a learning series held by our Environment, peacebuilding, and security policy working group, which is a new group in 2025, exploring national security processes and actors. Find notes and updates from this group linked here. The group will reconvene in August or September for a stocktaking session and determine next steps.
Peace@COP30 community call next week
On 23 July at 15h CET, our Peace@COP30 Community will have its monthly community call. This month will provide an opportunity to reflect on the learnings from the special sessions on NDCs and NAPs held in June. It will also provide space for participants to exchange updates on what is planned for peace/conflict at COP30. You can sign up to receive a calendar invitation here.
