Dear colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well and easing into the second half of April with some inspiration and momentum. Below you’ll find updates from our working groups, news about upcoming events, and some new resources to support your work.
Remember: You can always find summaries, connection links, and updates for all ECCP meetings and groups on our 2025 Activities Page.
Climate Change & Policy
The next Peace@COP30 Policy Working Group meeting will take place on Wednesday 23 April at 15h CET. This group is diving into potential areas of influence within the COP30 negotiations, with a desire to get more concrete and granular than in years past. All are welcome to join these conversations - no prior COP experience required!
You’ll find notes from our March meeting here.

Biodiversity & Policy
The Peace@CBD working group met yesterday to unpack opportunities across the multilateral biodiversity policy landscape. The group discussed specific policy links at the October World Conservation Congress and December UNEA-7 (UN Environment Assembly), and much, much more.
You can read the notes from the meeting here, and join us next month on 19 May at 16h CET.

Environment, Peacebuilding & Security
Our newest policy working group on Environment, Peacebuilding, and Security will meet again on Thursday 24 April at 15h CET for a deep-dive session on climate, peace, and security issues in the Arctic, led by our colleagues at NUPI. Find a summary of sessions from this working group so far linked here.
Members of this group are also hard at work to organize an ECCP Learning Series on Climate Security diving into how security institutions are engaging with environmental and climate risks. Speakers from NATO, the EU, the OSCE, and related institutions have been invited, and we should be able to announce dates shortly. You'll be able to find that information here, and on our usual 2025 Activity page.
The Learning Series kicked off in March with a fireside chat featuring community members Abby Robinson and Raquel Munayer — in case you missed it, you can catch the recording here.

Are you based in Berlin? — Following my recent call for interest in organizing in-person meet-ups around the world, I’m working with volunteers from cities from DC to Nairobi to bring together gatherings. An announcement is coming shortly with more information on all, but for now - are you based in Berlin? If you're based in Berlin or would like to help shape a meet-up there, please reach out!
Peer Circle on Funding/Fundraising — There’s growing interest in forming a peer circle focused on discussing/exploring/pursuing/creating funding opportunities in today’s shifting landscape.
