ECCP: Online meetings next week
On complexity, security, COP30, and more.
Dear Colleagues,
I hope this email finds you well in what I know is a busy period everywhere. Many of you are coming and going from conferences and other convenings, and I wish you safe travels & many meaningful connections.
I’ll try to keep this email short, rounding up a few updates across our community’s many activities. If you’re new to the ECCP, welcome. You can follow the ECCP conversation on WhatsApp in our three groups: English, French, or Spanish. We’ve also just launched a brand new ECCP LinkedIn group, by popular request!
As usual, you’ll find a roundup of events, activities, and connection links here: https://ecosystemforpeace.org/2025.
Our next general monthly networking meeting will be held Monday 27 October at 14h CET. You can register your interest on this sign-up sheet if you’d like to receive calendar invitations for our monthly meetings.

Notes and resources from previous meetings
Following our September Policy Stocktaking meeting, we now have 4 policy working groups within the CoP. Each working group has a folder with meeting notes and other relevant documents. You can find the latest here:
Peace@CBD Policy Working Group (conflict-sensitive conservation)
Environment, Peacebuilding, and Security Policy Working Group
Green Transition Policy Working Group (note: there is no folder for this group yet as the first meeting will be held next week)
We also have two topical groups with ongoing notes and resources:
Upcoming in-person meetings
ECCP members around the world are collaborating to convene in-person meet-ups in 2025. Save the date for:
24 October, 9am-1pm CET — Berlin, Germany

11 November, 4-5:30pm UK time — London, United Kingdom
If you’d like to attend the meet-ups in Berlin or London, or host a meet-up in your area, please email ecosystemforpeace@gmail.com! We have interest in events in both Bamako and Nairobi - I’d love to support you getting together with others in your area.
Relevant resources
I strongly encourage you to explore the Environmental Peacebuilding Association’s Knowledge Platform and newsletter. In the meantime, some resources that may interest you are:
New knowledge hub: Knowledge Hub for Locally Led Action on Climate, Peace and Security (linked here)
Report: The environment, conflict and peace in Sudan: from response to recovery (linked here)
New course: Conflict Sensitivity in Conservation: Principles and Practice (linked here)
Brief: Ten ways to create people-centred early warning systems in conflicts and recurrent crises (linked here)
Data tool: Climate—Conflict—Vulnerability Index (linked here)
Newsletter: UN Climate, Peace, and Security (linked here)
Finally, I’m pleased to share that the ECCP, through the great work of Raquel Munayer, collaborated with the Climate and Environment Charter to generate this Guidance on Climate Resilience and Adaptation Programming in Fragile, Conflict-Affected Settings. This resource list brings together a wide range of guidance materials, tools, reports, and case studies designed to support practitioners, policymakers, and researchers working on climate adaptation and programming in fragile and conflict-affected settings (FCAS).
Save the Date for November 26 from 15:00-16:30 CET for a webinar on the topic, and the launch of an interactive version of this resource.
Finally, I am looking for an illustrator (preferably based in the Global South) to accompany the ECCP on an interesting illustration project: Attempting to sketch out the many activities and connections in visual form. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please let me know.
That’s it for me. Please don’t hesitate to send resources my way for the next edition. I wish you a good week ahead.
Warmly,
Annika
